John 14:23 “Jesus replied, "If anyone loves me, he will obey my teaching. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.”
What was The Lord’s main teaching? For this we go back to John 13:34 where Jesus clearly commanded us:
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
How can we obey His teachings unless we love Him first? And how can we love Him without knowing and hearing about Him? We should first know more about Jesus Christ; know what He did on the cross and fall in love with Him! Other religions have it the other way around saying that god will love you if you do good; other religions would use fear and threats of hell in order to make people obey them. In the Kingdom of God, it is all about loving one another because Jesus Christ loves us! We love because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Having this truth about Jesus Christ will enable us to obey His teaching and love others more.
