[img:seated inside] Matthew 28:18-20 “Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
I’ve always loved reading the red lines in the Bible (spoken words of Christ). I love it when Jesus speaks and reveals His macho and yet gentle nature. When I read today’s verse I cannot help but say in my thoughts that these words can only be spoken by Someone ultimately powerful and all loving. It comes to no wonder why the soldiers who attempted to arrest Jesus came back empty handed with the excuse: “No one spoke the way this man does.” (John 7:46) Surely, when the soldiers came for Jesus then, The Lord must have spoken to them in this manner.
Jesus The Good Shepherd. The only One powerful enough to save us and The only One who will die for us.
He is Someone who has been given ALL authority in heaven and on earth; He commands the seas and they obey Him, He commands demons and diseases and they flee from Him, He can even command a fish to fetch Him money, command water to turn to wine, and command bread to multiply into thousands. Jesus is God Almighty (Revelations 1:8, Revelations 22:13) and with all His power, HE NEVER USED IT TO HURT OR DOMINATE ANYONE. In fact, He stylishly uses them to love us, guide us, teach us, counsel us, and comfort us. He gave us a commandment, to love one another and yet instead of intimidating us with threats, he encourages us by constantly reminding us that “SURELY I AM WITH YOU ALWAYS, TO THE VERY END OF THE AGE.” The most powerful Being in the universe is with us and loving us – always. All I can say is wow! I wish everyone a blessed week, in the name of Jesus Christ!
