Jesus is The Increase

[img:thy_word_by_kevron2001-d5pi3ay] Proverbs 19:20-21 “Listen to advice and accept instruction, and in the end you will be wise. Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.”

The wise knows that nothing good can come out of man’s flesh and that every good thing comes from God and God alone.  We can plan our days according to what we think is right, what seems best according to our inferior minds ‘speculations’ and ‘wisdom’ but in the end of it all, things unfold according to the will of God.  It is just how the apostle Paul puts it:

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. (1 Corinthians 3:6)

Only fools would claim God’s work as their own glory.  They actually believe that their ‘good works’ or their hard work and obedience earned them what they have now.  After all their proud boastings, they fail to see that what good success they have now came because of only one reason: the grace of God who is Jesus Christ. On the other hand, the really wise men of this world, instead of boasting, they shut their mouths and listen.  We learn through our eyes and ears, not through our mouths.  This is not hard to do, because as children of The Most High, we know Who it was who died for us.  We know that our very being and our very actions deserve nothing but death; and if this is so, what is there to boast about?  We know that we cannot do anything apart from The Saviour, Jesus Christ (John 15:5).  So, one of the greatest things we can do in this life, is to read the word of God found in the Bible and know more about The Man who died so that we, in turn, can live!
