Fears Anxieties: Meditations 15 January 2022

I've been reflecting on my life, from my decisions back in 2021 as I woke up with anxiety this morning. I started wondering, is this really what The Lord wanted? Is my heart hardened and am I now acting out of human pride? I pleaded with The Lord: if I am walking on my own way then please correct me at once! If I am headed to a place where you won't be present, then I don't want to be there! (This reminds me of and incident between Moses and God -Exodus 33:15)

The Lord sends a comforting message saying "I will never leave you nor forsake you." (do you not understand that yet?) And that has been my homework, to chew on those verses in my mouth, until my mind captures it... "I will never leave you nor forsake you".. until my heart digests it. The apostles saw the bread and the fishes filling up the hunger of the multitudes, we people of 2022 have the actual cross of Jesus Christ. (How is it that you still do not understand??? Mark 8:21) It occurred to me that in my profession, most clients who come for counselling are the ones who were victimized by the lie that: Christ has abandoned them. That they are now walking this world alone and because of this, all favour and blessings are put to no effect. That is a scary scary thought. Being left behind, being left alone by The Lord Jesus is a scary thought; the good news here is that this can only be a lie because this is an impossibility. Among everyone in this world, it is The Lord Jesus Christ who would care for you, He would go to war with you to defend you and fight for you, and if need be, He will die for you. There is no argument, no questions on this, make no mistake, Jesus Christ walked to the cross and saved you and me.

being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. -Philippians 1:6

He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all— how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? -Romans 8:32

Keep this in mind and ask yourself, is this the type of guy who will walk away when things get rough? Now I don't know what's going to happen now and in the days to come. But I do guarantee one thing: that you can believe this Man who tells you that He will never leave you nor forsake you. He has never withdrawn His blessings before, His righteousness and Holiness will not allow it. He will never break His covenant; not to His servants and never for His children. I know it is difficult, especially for the ones who have lost their jobs.... for the ones who have lost friends and family (socially). The last thing you want in your mind right now is the lie that you have been abandoned by The Christ. Let's all start with this thought first: that He is WITH us and He is FOR us, then we will slowly work our way up from there. What is next for us? The fears are lies to derail our work in Christ. Make no mistake, we are planted in this position for a reason, for a purpose. And so, we carry on His work. Amidst the persecution, amidst the loneliness, amidst the trials, this is what we have left for in this world - the will of The King. The love and the message of Jesus Christ is yet to be known. As for me and my house, our true work has just begun.

We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. - 2 Corinthians 4:8-10
