Where is the shelter of God?

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Psalm 91 is an excellent prayer or song of protection. It is the Psalm where we find God’s promise that NO EVIL WILL BEFALL YOU (verse 10). What a significant and relevant promise; it is one that we can surely hang on to with what is happening in the world today.
Traps that the world set against you, deadly pestilences or ‘arrows shot by the enemy’ – all will fall flat before you. It may affect a lot of people around you, but no danger will come near you (verse 7). An important aspect about this chapter is that it didn’t just reveal the promises of God but it also revealed to us how to activate these promises.
It is expressed clearly in verse 1: He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High... It is never to be forgotten that the promises in Psalm 91 are sanctified by God for those who are in Jesus Christ. We cannot expect God’s promise of NO EVEIL WILL BEFALL YOU to take effect if we do not satisfy the first condition and that is believing in His One and only Son. I personally know some people who don’t believe in Christ and yet complain that Christ is not protecting them or hearing them. For Christ to be real to you, you have to be in Christ first!
All the promises are held together by Jesus Christ!
So dwell in the secret place of the Most High, dwell in Jesus Christ and His grace, and get to witness all His wonderful promises become a reality in your life.
