“I am the way, the truth, and the life”
-Jesus Christ (John 14:6)
In my personal translation of the verse, Jesus is saying that He is the car, He is the road, and He is the destination. He is the beginning, the center and the end. The Creator, The Saviour and The Conqueror! Jesus Christ is our everything; there is no room for any other. The verse doesn't only tell us the nature and deity of the One we are worshipping, it also gives us our real reason for living this life. We all want the great blessings of God, but in the end what we really are looking for is a Person, our exceedingly great reward - Our Lord Jesus Christ (Genesis 15:1).

Fear not, Abram: I AM thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward
. (Genesis 15:1, refer to what Jesus said on John 8:58) We all want the good things of God; be it spiritual blessings or even material blessings ranging from health, wisdom, provision, righteousness and Salvation. The truth is that all these are free gifts from God and that Christ is not against us having these things; for they are all obtained through Him. But the truth is that what we really desire is something (or Someone) more than the ones listed above, for it is written:
“What a person desires is unfailing love”-Proverbs 19:22
(refer to Who this verse is pointing to on John 15:13)
Anything that your heart truly desire is wrapped around the person of Jesus Christ and the only way we can truly get them is through Jesus Christ. After getting all of them, we will soon realize that it was Jesus Christ that we wanted all along. All the material and spiritual blessings speak of Jesus’ unfailing and undying love for us. It is what He bled for and died for to give us. No, we do not go for these lesser blessings (we believers are far wiser than that!), these blessings come after us (Matthew 6:33). What we really thirst for and run for is what these blessings point to and that is Jesus Christ. He is The Way, The Truth, and The Life! Our exceeding great reward!
